At a small claims hearing, the process is informal but structured.
Typical Hearing Process:
1️⃣ Introduction by the judge – The judge explains how the hearing will proceed.
2️⃣ Claimant presents their case – They explain why they are claiming money.
3️⃣ Defendant responds – They can dispute the claim or provide evidence.
4️⃣ Judge asks questions – Both sides may be asked for clarification.
5️⃣ Final decision – The judge will make a ruling, either immediately or later in writing.
Most hearings last 30–60 minutes, and legal representation is not required.
