If you do not respond within 14 days, the claimant can request a default judgment, meaning:
❌ You automatically lose the case – The court may order you to pay the full amount.
❌ Bailiffs or enforcement may be used – Your assets could be seized.
❌ A CCJ (County Court Judgment) is issued – This affects your credit rating for up to 6 years.
If you’ve missed the deadline, you may apply to set aside the judgment, but you’ll need valid reasons.
